Local Implementation Plan

Our approved Local Implementation Plan (LIP) contains a range of strategies which support our strategic objectives: people, place, and business. The LIP aims to balance the need for growth and economic prosperity with improvements which will minimise the impact that traffic growth has on the town.

It focuses on approaches which will influence travel choices, and opportunities to improve accessibility for all. It also supports the Tees Valley Combined Authority's Strategic Transport Plan.

Key objectives include:

  • reducing the number, and severity, of casualties
  • minimising congestion and improving traffic flow
  • improving local air quality
  • removing transport as a barrier to accessing jobs, education and training, leisure, and retail
