School meals survey

We are looking at increasing the price of school meals. This will let us maintain the level of choice and quality offered by our school meals.

Increasing the cost of school meals will also bring our prices in line with the other Tees Valley councils.

Currently, the prices are:

  • £2.15 for primary school meals
  • £2.25 for secondary school meals

Under our plans, prices would increase to:

  • £2.40 for primary school meals
  • £2.50 for secondary school meals

This price change does not affect free school meals for Key Stage One children and children whose parents are getting certain benefits.

This survey is now closed. It ran from 9 December 2022 to 23 January 2023. We'll publish more information about the outcome of the survey soon.
