Changes to bin collections

Rubbish collections

Fortnightly rubbish collections for residents with a black bin will start from early August 2024.

There are no changes for residents who use sacks or a communal bin.

Check the fortnightly collections frequently asked questions to find out more about the changes.

If you think you'll struggle with only getting your rubbish collected every 2 weeks, you can apply for a bigger bin. If you apply for a bigger bin before 21 June, it will be delivered by the time fortnightly collections start.

Garden waste collections

You need to subscribe to the garden waste service and pay an annual charge if you want your garden waste collected.

Check the garden waste subscription frequently asked questions to find out more about these changes.

If you do not subscribe, you'll have to take your garden waste to the Household Waste Recycling Centre, or you can compost it.

Recycling collections

We'll still collect your recycling every 2 weeks.

We know most residents are great at recycling, but there's still more we can do. It's good for the environment, and it will also make it easier when we move to fortnightly rubbish collections. Making sure that everything recyclable goes in your blue-lid bin might give you extra space in your black bin.
