Car parks and charges in Middlesbrough

Please note that the Captain Cook Square car park will close at 7pm on Monday 20 and Tuesday 21 November due to resurfacing works that is taking place on Grange Road between 7pm and midnight.

We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.

Three hours free parking is available at Captain Cook Square and Ferry Road car parks only - Please note, motorists parking free for three hours still need to display a pay and display ticket. The ticket machine will issue a free ticket which will show the time of arrival and departure. Only one free ticket per vehicle per day is permitted.

Season tickets - you can buy a season ticket for all council-run long stay car parks.

Overnight parking - Motorists may leave their vehicles overnight in any of the surface car parks or on-street parking areas at their own risk. Vehicles must either be moved before the charging times start the following day or the appropriate fee must be paid at the machine or via RingGo if the vehicle is being left during chargeable hours. The multi storey car parks - Captain Cook Square and Zetland - are closed overnight. Please refer to the table below for daily opening/closing times.
