Middlesbrough Council is a partner in Healthwatch Middlesbrough. Healthwatch is a strong independent consumer champion which will strengthen the collective voice of citizens and communities in influencing local health and social care services to better meet their needs and support people to better access the services they need when they need them.

The North East competitiveness and employment programme has €375.7 million of ERDF to invest. It focuses on 2 main priorities:

Tees Valley Unlimited is the private and public sector Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) for the Tees Valley. Its aims include striving to deliver jobs and economic growth across the Tees Valley. The Local Growth Minister, Penny Mordaunt, MP, visited Tees Valley Unlimited in 2014 to sign a 'Growth Deal' which triggered £90 million worth of investment in the area to help revitalise the local economy. The additional funding, which will be concentrated in the Tees Valley over four to five years, will focus on investment in innovation, transport, infrastructure, skills and business support projects, leading to the creation of a significant number of additional jobs.
