Anti-social behaviour

Community trigger

The Community Trigger is a process you can use to ask agencies to review their response to anti-social behaviour you've reported.

You can use the Community Trigger if you've made three or more separate reports about the same problem in the past six months to Middlesbrough Council, Cleveland Police, or your landlord.

You can also use the Community Trigger if more than one individual, business or community group has made five or more reports about the same problem in the past six months to Middlesbrough Council, Cleveland Police, or your landlord.

You can use the Community Trigger on behalf of someone else if you have their written consent. No anonymous requests to activate the trigger will be accepted.

How to use the Community Trigger

add

We'll confirm that we've received your request within three working days.

The Community Trigger is a process by which a person can apply for an anti-social behaviour case to be reviewed if the person is dissatisfied with the response they have received from the agencies they have reported the problem to. It is not a complaints process.

Once a person has made a Community Trigger submission then that submission will be reviewed appropriately by Middlesbrough Council and partner agencies such as Cleveland Police. Depending on the circumstances of the Trigger submission, this can include a meeting between the appropriate agencies to discuss the anti-social behaviour and any actions which have been considered and taken in response to it.

The review will consider how agencies have responded to reports of anti-social behaviour, and if necessary will make recommendations on how the problem can be resolved. Feedback will be provided to the person who made the Trigger submission within 15 working days.
