All elected members (councillors) are legally required to fill in a register of interests form. The form asks for details of any 'interests' which could cause a conflict of interest when they are carrying out their duties as a councillor. These can include:
- other positions they hold (paid or unpaid work)
- political parties they are part of
- gifts they have received which are worth over £25
- land they have an interest in (for example, where they own or rent a house)
Every member's register of interests can be found on their profile on ModernGov. Go to the ModernGov councillors page, and click on the councillor whose register of interests you'd like to view. A link to the register of interests is listed beneath the heading 'More information about this councillor'.
