To run a public collection for charitable purposes you'll need a licence from Middlesbrough Council.
The organiser of the collection must apply for a licence no later than one month before the date of the collection.
Before granting a licence, we'll consult the chief constable for the area and make any other enquiries we see fit.
We will also consider:
- public inconvenience
- other collections taking place
- how much of the money raised will actually be given to charity
- any convictions the organiser has
