The Historic Quarter transformation programme will significantly improve Exchange Square and Zetland Road by:
- enhancing the look of both areas with hard surface upgrades, trees, new street furniture and better lighting
- creating inviting spaces where people want to spend time
- complementing the architecture and character of the area
Middlesbrough Council appointed landscape architects, Southern Green, to develop concept designs for Exchange Square and Zetland Road. Artist's impressions are shown below. The concept designs were consulted on and the detailed design will take on board people’s feedback.
